Help figuring out what this anime is?

All I remember about this anime is there a girl who transforms into a magical being with an object that she puts on her hand. I think she slays demons who haunts the human world. I think her grandmother or someone else in her family gave it to her.If anyone can help me figure it out from this small description I'd be thankful!
